The Problem

Scantron’s legacy Oracle platform created friction across the customer journey and restricted growth. B2B clients faced manual account setup and purchase-order hurdles, while the front-end UX was cumbersome, confusing, and inconsistent with Scantron’s lead-generation site. Mobile shoppers experienced a non-responsive, fixed-width layout that prevented easy navigation and purchase. Customers struggled with product compatibility, multi-item orders, and bulk purchases, leading many to abandon the website in favor of calling orders directly.

Additionally, the platform could not accommodate downloadable products, further limiting options for modern buyers. These constraints eroded customer trust, inhibited conversions, and left management unable to launch promotions or campaigns efficiently. The existing infrastructure threatened both revenue and customer retention, making a platform migration essential

Our Solution

DigitlHaus migrated Scantron to BigCommerce, creating a modern, future-proof platform with full B2B and B2C functionality. The migration included NetSuite integration through Celigo for real-time inventory accuracy and simplified catalog management.

Custom solutions enabled B2B clients to self-register and be automatically assigned to the appropriate customer groups, removing manual administrative steps and accelerating order placement. The front-end was redesigned with a clean, minimal aesthetic inspired by Apple, emphasizing whitespace, crisp typography, and intuitive navigation across all devices.DigitlHaus introduced mobile responsiveness, bulk-order enhancements, and quantity-adjustment features directly on product cards, reducing friction for repeat and large purchases. The updated UX unified Scantron’s digital presence with its lead-generation site and simplified product discovery for all customers. Customers now navigate accounts, manage bulk orders, and complete purchases seamlessly, while internal teams gained operational efficiency and control over campaigns.

The Results

The migration and redesign delivered measurable gains: conversions increased by 6%, revenue grew by 32%, organic search sessions rose 20%, and average order value jumped 30%. Scantron’s new BigCommerce platform eliminated friction for B2B and B2C customers, streamlined operations, and established a modern, scalable foundation for future growth.
