The Problem

GelPro’s NetSuite SuiteCommerce site became a barrier to growth. Updates required developer intervention, delaying marketing campaigns and operational changes. The closed platform ecosystem limited integration with modern tools, making even basic analytics or feature updates expensive and slow.

Frontend limitations hindered the customer experience. Navigation was cumbersome, filtering options were minimal and key features such as faceted search and sample requests were unavailable or difficult to implement. Customers experienced friction while browsing and purchasing, which negatively impacted conversion rates and customer acquisition.

The cumulative effect of these issues created a high-stakes situation. GelPro risked falling behind competitors with modern, mobile-optimized storefronts. Internal teams lacked control over operations and campaigns, slowing responsiveness to trends and marketing opportunities. A platform migration was necessary to unlock flexibility, modern features and a streamlined, engaging customer experience.

Our Solution

DigitlHaus migrated GelPro from NetSuite SuiteCommerce to BigCommerce, redesigning both backend and frontend systems to prioritize operational efficiency and customer experience.

The team integrated the NetSuite ERP with BigCommerce using Hairball.io and Celigo, ensuring accurate product data, inventory, and order synchronization. Internal teams gained control over campaigns, content and product updates, reducing the need for developers. Modern tools such as Klaviyo, Bazaarvoice, and Olark were implemented, further enhancing capabilities.

The frontend was rebuilt to create a modern, intuitive shopping experience. Clean layouts, bold typography, and simplified navigation improved usability, while faceted search, swatches and a custom “Request a Sample” feature reduced friction. Custom hover images, image zoom and “recently viewed” widgets increased engagement and helped customers explore products confidently.

The combined improvements delivered both visual appeal and operational efficiency, allowing GelPro to manage campaigns rapidly, launch new features and scale for long-term growth while offering a polished, interactive shopping experience for customers.

The Results

Within the first year of launch, GelPro experienced a 35% increase in conversions and 42% growth in new customers. Internal teams now manage campaigns, product updates and content without developer support, while the BigCommerce platform allows seamless integration with modern tools.
