The Problem

Despite a strong reputation, Cooks Bellecour struggled with an outdated BigCommerce store that had not been updated since their initial launch. The obsolete theme lacked modern features, security and performance, creating a slow, cumbersome experience that frustrated customers and staff alike. Navigation was unintuitive, conversions were slipping and the design no longer reflected the brand’s premium, hands-on energy.

Content management was tedious and technically demanding. Recipes, classes and editorial storytelling were central to the brand, yet updates required technical expertise, limiting how frequently the team could publish new content or run campaigns. Manual processes slowed launches, introduced errors and reduced engagement, while missing platform features and slow page load times hindered both conversions and brand perception.

Operationally, integrations like NCR Counterpoint created bottlenecks, leaving product, order and inventory management prone to error. Marketing campaigns and seasonal promotions were difficult to execute efficiently and performance issues risked eroding Cooks’ competitive edge in a content-driven, visually rich marketplace.

DigitlHaus led a full-scale migration to the latest version of BigCommerce, building a modern, scalable foundation for content and commerce. The backend was restructured to streamline operations, improve performance and enhance security, giving the Cooks team full control without technical expertise. Custom Page Builder widgets enabled drag-and-drop content updates, making it easy to launch new pages, refresh recipes and run campaigns independently.

Operational integrations, including NCR Counterpoint, were optimized to ensure accurate product, order and inventory data across all channels. Page load speeds improved, security risks were eliminated and the site became a reliable foundation for future growth.

The front-end experience was completely redesigned to reflect Cooks’ vibrant, hands-on brand. DigitlHaus implemented clean, minimal layouts emphasizing photography and video, creating a visually engaging, inspiring storefront. Content-driven navigation highlighted recipes, classes and curated products, while custom features such as dynamic mega menus, hover images, product badges and class scheduling tools simplified discovery and shopping.

This approach unified content and commerce, enabling seamless storytelling, easy exploration and intuitive purchasing. The redesign allowed Cooks to showcase its expertise, elevate engagement and maintain a polished, professional and differentiated digital presence across all devices.
